I’m here, finding solace.
Sometimes it lies downstairs
in a vodka tonic, or in the stride
of a couple crossing the street
on a Friday night. And other times
it lies between the sheets of my bed, or
within the breath of a hot shower
and room service. When all is
said and done, a single black coffee
will paint my tongue with the
malignancy of an empty room,
until I find the courage to escape
to the reality outside this lonesome retreat.
it feels like someone
knocked out a
piece of my tooth
and called it
Was it you?
looking at the
lonely orb, as it
floats out of reach
No one has ever bought me flowers.
was a dream
First, you’d smile.
Then get upset.
Then turn on the news—
this describes perfectly of this guy i know! coolest dude ever, but too young for me, and basically is exactly how you wrote here
There are so many people out there who feel this way, and their feelings remain tucked away since they rarely speak up. I wanted to give him a voice. He’s a very nice guy who seems to be overcoming his demons. He’ll definitely open up with more time and growth.
I think it’s so important for people to reach out to others who are lost inside themselves. Be patient. Be compassionate. Show them how to love themselves and others. You can only do so much, but just the smallest bit of consideration goes a long way. Life is hard enough doing it on your own, and connecting with others makes the journey all the more beautiful.
